FREE INSTRUCTIONAL
by martha's vineyard Youth hock posted 01/05/2012

The MV Youth Hockey Instructional Winter Session is now FREE!

GROW MV YOUTH HOCKEY is pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for
4 to 9 year olds to try ice hockey this winter – FREE!

Beginner skaters will be coached and learn basic ice skating and ice hockey skills while playing fun games on the ice.

WHEN?
Ice times are typically Saturdays 8:30 AM and Wednesdays 4:00 PM, with some Sundays 8:30 AM. A total of fourteen free skate times will be offered from early January through mid-March 2012. There will be a registration party in the MV Arena warm room for the first skate on January 7, 2012. Come early to prepare for ice time at 8:30 AM!

WHERE? MV Ice Arena, Oak Bluffs

WHY? For the love of the game. Ice hockey is an exciting sport to play, especially for young children. We want to give more Island children an opportunity to try it.

HOW TO REGISTER?
There are two registration steps: USA Hockey (usahockey.com) online – free for birth year 2005 and younger ($30 for older), and MVYH registration (mvyh.org). Download and print MVYH forms and bring to first practice. Players are welcome to join at any time.

Recommended local options for ice hockey equipment include new equipment for sale at the MV Arena pro shop, and used equipment available for loan from MVYH.
